Female fronted Indie electro duo, debut’s single “Operate”. It pops into the tape deck and immediately whirrs to life, channeling the nostalgic drama of Miami Vice and classic horror film scores through gorgeous R&B-tinged vocals and temperamental hip-hop snares. It’s every bit as cinematic as you’d expect, a smooth operator in the cool of night that makes for a promising debut from the NYC duo.

THE AKAL PROJECT

My dear friend and amazing choreographer/dancer Amy Secada is working on a new multimedia dance project called “AKAL” with partner Neguin who is another gifted dancer/choreographer. Secada and Neguin have been planning, sewing, recording the music, and choreographing since January and now they have a couple offers to share the new piece in Europe and Brazil in the fall! They are utilizing a fusion of interactive multimedia technology, Capoeira, dance and futuristic couture costume design to portray a mundane yet transformational part of the human experience, the relation between the thinker and the thought.
Secada and Naguin have much more work to do to prepare the show and need your help to make it happen! They have set up an INDIE GOGO fund raising campaign to help them cover expenses for costume design, equipment rental, rehearsal space, paying musicians etc. Any amount of donation is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
