An Apsara (Sanskrit: अप्सरा: apsarāḥ, plural अप्सरस: apsarasaḥ, stem apsaras-, a feminine consonant stem) or Accharā (Pāli), is a female spirit of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Frequently encountered English translations of the word “Apsara” are “nymph,” “celestial nymph,” and “celestial maiden.”

The temples in Cambodia loved and honored these beautiful young women… Ancient Greece build statues to glorify them. Celestial goddesses or maidens. Apsaras are supernatural beings. They appear as young women of great beauty and elegance who are proficient in the art of dancing. These Apsaras would dance in the palaces of the Gods. As they entertain the Gods and the fallen heroes.

The Apsaras are said to be able to change their shapes at will and specially rule over the fortunes of gaming and gambling. They also had fertility rites. Apsaras where compared to the muses of ancient Greece, with each of the 26 Apsaras at Indra’s court representing a distinct aspect of the performing arts…

APSARA … They are also associated with fertility rites. In Hinduism, the lower Apsaras are sometimes regarded as nature spirits who may lure men to their deaths; in this respect they may be compared to the Slavic Rusalki or the Greek sirens.

Apsaras are also associated with water, thus, they may be compared to the nymphs , dyrads and naiads of ancient Greece… All nymphs!
Chitralekha, Saha and Madhuraswana, are some of the names of whom possessed eyes like a lotus leaves, who were employed in enticing the hearts of persons practicing rigid austerities, they danced in the old temples. It was said that they possessed slim waists and fair large hips…

They would perform various evolutions, shaking their deep bosoms, and casting their glances around the room, and exhibiting other attractive attitude capable of stealing the hearts and resolutions and minds of the spectators! The divine power of an Apsara… Hypnotic, alluring, intriguing, sophisticated and true to the love for the performing arts.

I live Apsara… I am Apsara… I hold the beauty and mystery of an Apsara!
